Acatenango Volcano is one of Guatemala's most impressive destinations for adventure and nature lovers. At an altitude of approximately 3,976 meters, it offers a unique climbing experience through diverse ecosystems, from cloud forests to volcanic landscapes. One of the tour's biggest attractions is the privileged view of the nearby Fuego Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in Central America, where it is possible to observe eruptions, lava, and ash expulsions, especially at night.

Start of the ascent along cloud forest trails.
Lunch on the way with panoramic views.
Arrival at base camp and check-in.
Dinner and bonfire in front of Fuego Volcano.

Return to camp for breakfast.
Descent to the base of the volcano.
Transfer back to Antigua Guatemala.
Extra Experience
We offer the option of a hike to Fuego Volcano, which takes place on the same day of arrival at 4:00 pm. It is 6 kilometers more in total, round trip, to be able to see the eruptions at nightfall from just 200 meters away. For this hike, an additional liter of water and some snacks are necessary.

You can hire a porter to carry your backpack to our base camp, which will make your experience much more enjoyable! One backpack per porter, with a maximum weight of 15 kilos.
